Terms
The terms on which we sell the book.
These are the terms between you and Fact and Story Ltd, registered in England, number 8644144, at Greenleigh Holt, Chew Magna, Bristol BS40 8QR, trading as The Days of You, when you order a book from thedaysofyou.com. They are written to be read. Last changed 6 October 2026.
What you are buying
A hardback book of 56 pages, 21 by 28 centimetres, made once for the person named on the order from their date and place of birth. The pictures on the site show the kind of pages the book contains; the pages in your book are drawn for that person and differ from them.
The price
The price shown on the order form is the whole price, delivery included: £49 for a book posted within the United Kingdom, in pounds, and the dollar price shown for a book posted within the United States. UK VAT is included where it applies; printed books are zero-rated. You pay by card on Stripe's payment page when you order. The contract is made when the payment succeeds, and we confirm it by email.
Please check the details before you pay
The book is made from what you enter: the name as it goes on the cover, the date of birth, the country and the town, and your dedication if you add one. We print exactly what is entered. Once you have paid, the book goes to be made and cannot be changed, so please check the name, the date and the town, and the spelling of your own words, before you press the button.
Cancelling
Because each book is made to your specification for one person, the right to cancel a distance purchase within fourteen days does not apply to it, as the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 provide for goods made to the consumer's specification or clearly personalised. If you write to us at [email protected] before the book has gone to the printer we will cancel it and refund you in full as a courtesy, but once it is being printed we cannot.
If we cannot make the book
Every figure in the book is checked before it is printed. If the book cannot be made for the person and date you gave, for example because a birth date is before 1 January 1940 or a figure cannot be confirmed, we do not print it and we refund the whole payment to the card you paid with, normally within five working days of telling you.
Delivery
Books for addresses in the United Kingdom are printed in the United Kingdom and books for addresses in the United States are printed in the United States. The book is printed within six working days of your order and sent by tracked post; we email you the tracking when it leaves. A book ordered on a Monday is normally in your hands within a fortnight, but postal services are not ours and we cannot promise a day. We deliver only to the United Kingdom and the United States for now.
If something is wrong with the book
You have the rights the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you: the book must be as described and of satisfactory quality. If it arrives damaged, misprinted, or with a page that does not match what you entered, write to us within thirty days with a photograph and we will print and post a replacement at our cost, or refund you if you prefer. This does not cover a mistake in the details you entered, which the book will reproduce faithfully.
Your words
You are responsible for the dedication you ask us to print. We will not print words that are unlawful or abusive, and if we decline an order for that reason we refund it in full.
About us and the law
The book, its design and the text on this site are the copyright of Fact and Story Ltd. The facts in a book are drawn from the public records named on its last page. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and nothing in them takes away rights you have under the law of the country you live in. If you want to complain, write to [email protected]; we answer within five working days.
